Lingvist update: What's new?

New | 22 June 2015

The last couple of weeks have been quite busy but very exciting here at Lingvist, especially due to the launch of the Lingvist mobile apps.

But wait, there’s more! If you haven’t noticed yet, we’ve also made some tweaks and touch-ups to improve your learning experience with Lingvist!

New design

Summer is approaching fast (yes, even in Estonia!), so we have decided to bring a little bit of freshness to our website. In particular, we’ve made some design changes to our homepage and reworked the registration pages. We hope you like it!

New word feature

We know how exciting it is to encounter a new word on your way to fluency. We’ve added some visual elements to all new cards to make these words easier to spot in the Memorize section. Whenever you see a green card with a star, that means you are going to learn a new word!

New re-typing feature

Some words, longer ones in particular, can be difficult to remember right off the bat. If you’re midway through typing a word that you didn’t get right on the first try and need a bit of help remembering the rest, the Memorize card will now show you the end of the word after 2 seconds in order to help you review it more easily.

Remember, as maths has shown, making between 5 to 15% of mistakes while learning is helpful!

More languages

Last but not least, we’ve also added new language pairs to Lingvist. English study modules for French and Russian speakers are now available. You’re welcome to share the news with your friends! We are also hard at work on adding more languages as soon as possible, so stay tuned!

Now you are all set to keep learning at superspeed! As always, we love to hear your feedback, so let us know if you have any questions or comments about these new features.
