Fresh out of the oven, it’s the latest Lingvist app!

  • admins

After a lot of hard work and endless cups of coffee, we’re thrilled to share with you our freshly updated Lingvist native app for iOS and Android!

We’ve done a lot of work under the hood to make this new version of the app more intuitive and better at making predictions about your learning path.

We’ve also done a lot on the outside too. The new design is made with focus in mind, so that you can get the most out of your learning time. The bobbling keyboard is a thing of the past, and you can continue to learn for up to 15 minutes without an internet connection.

This app is also bringing you a new way to connect with other learners and the Lingvist community through our Forum. Ask for help, share your insights, immerse yourself, and challenge each other to be the best language learners you can be.

Finally, we’re proud to include Spanish and Russian to our growing family of language pairs. The courses are still piping-hot; new content will be added in the coming months, and existing content will be tweaked and improved along the way!

If you don’t have the app yet, you can download it from the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Stay tuned for more news here in the forum, our blog, follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

@Les-Cullen, thanks for radical candour and being our dedicated learner!
All features you're currently missing will be back either as they are or in a similar/improved incarnation!

Here is a bit of a backstory behind the native release and an invitation to vote for the feature you find the most important (and thus would like to see back the most).

Sorry, but it's awful. Please see the suggestions sub-forum to find out why, but in a nutshell:

    • loss of landscape on tablets (this is critical)
    • no reading and listening modes
    • vocab histories gone
    • can't tap on a single word any more (also critical)

Please please please bring back the old functionality.
