    • RE: The 2016 Year End Challenge!

I'm less than an hour away from midnight here in Korea, so I'll post my results now.

I was able to maintain 200 for the last five days. I did 1085 cards in the first five days and 1123 in the second five days for a total of 2208, so I passed my goal!
I also more than doubled the amount of time I've spent studying Russian on Lingvist.

Most importantly, I realized that taking one hour out of my day to study is not as hard as I thought it would be, even around the holidays. This gives me motivation to continue studying throughout 2017. Happy New Year everybody!

@maksim I've also just found this other app with a lot of (simple) short stories. It looks like it even has audio recorded by a native speaker. However, I haven't been able to find an option to translate individual words in the text.

Readlang is great (especially for advanced learners) because you can add your own texts and save words to vocab lists.

Bilinguis has a few options in many languages, but I think it only works online.

Farkas has a few books as well, for download.

I've been looking at a few apps (mainly for Russian) and the best ones I've found are:

So I missed the 200 mark on the 24th... but it was still enough to surpass my 5-day goal.

Hi, I'm learning Russian from English.
My average this week has been higher than normal, with most days over 100 cards studied and a peak of over 200.
For this year-end challenge, I'll go for a steady 200 cards a day, so 1000 on day 5 and 2000 on day 10.
I'm also studying Korean quite intensively, so this will be quite a fun challenge.
