Thanks for the insight :) We chose that font for the reasons you mention above, so it's really great to hear users validating that choice!

Hope you have a great weekend, wherever you are :)

Hey, I'm happy to help :)

The font we use for the language that you are learning is called Volkorn

As Marina said, it would be interesting to know why you'd like to know – just curious :)

Hi Tabitha, thanks for reaching out! Thanks for drawing our attention to this issue, and sorry for the annoyance!

This is a bug that we had actually remedied some time ago but it looks like it may have somehow reappeared on the most recent update.

The issue will be fixed in the forthcoming release, along with the release of some other cool stuff. Thanks again for your comments and help :)

We thought it might be fun to show you guys a new feature we're working on that will basically 'kill off' the pesky number above the keyboard discussed above.

We're devising an automated and smart notification system that pops up after a user has either made a mistake, revealed the answer or navigated back to a card.

We're calling this function 'tutor view' and incorporates grammatical tips, additional meanings and conjugation tables — all navigable using an incorporated footer and accessible through a 'buoy' button which appears above the keyboard.

This is currently being tested within the native apps and trails are going very well, we're quite excited about it :) We'll then create a similar system that users will be able to access prior to answering a card (again for native apps) before converting the lot over to the web app

Hi Jarno :)

You may have noticed that some cards include additional meanings for the required word, which appear below the main translation when the keyboard is down.

So in the case shown here, the main translation is 'easy, simple' but there are also 2 other meanings for the required word, which you can view by bringing the keyboard down / pressing the number '2'.

We understand that this is not as intuitive as we initially thought, so we have worked towards redesigning how we communicate and display items that traditionally appear instead of the keyboard area (Additional meanings, hints and tips, grammar tables, etc). We are testing this solution at the moment, and if all goes well, you should be seeing it on an update real soon :)

A bit of an update / sneak peak.

Here are some quick snaps of our on-going iPad app design :) Comments? Thoughts?

Hey Harry :)

Thanks for your feedback! We've decided to give you, and our forum users, a little sneak peak at something we are working on. I've attached 2 screen shots of our forthcoming dark theme which we are calling 'cosmos' (the current light theme will be called 'paper').

It's been designed for pretty much the reasons you mention above and it's something the whole team is quite excited about.

'Cosmos' will be available on iOS applications in a few weeks, with Android and the browser application following suite!

Hey, thanks for the feedback!

So the issue here is technical and mainly related to iOS/Apple devices.

We're trying to merge the sign in process between the app and the forum so that users don't have to sign into the forum separately when connecting via the app. We noticed that not doing this caused quite a bit of confusion and was really unintuitive, so we've held back from including the community section from the app until we sort it out.

Hope that makes sense and thanks again :)

Hey Guys, thanks for the feedback!

Our recent update to the native app has meant that we had to disable landscape mode on tablets for now. We're working towards bringing it back in the near future so please bare with us.

Totally understand that landscape is the more favourable view on tablets, and removing it for now was not an easy decision. The reasons behind it are technical as we are striving to make our mobile and tablet apps much faster, cleaner, and just generally better quality.

I may suggest that, for now, you could use the browser version on Safari or Chrome — Just until we update the native application. The browser version is fully responsive, and works in both portrait and landscape mode.

Big thanks for you patience on this! We'll let you know once the native app is fully updated.
